Workout motivation is hard to muster up when you don’t believe that you can achieve results. Most of the articles here talk about changing your self image, discovering what you want,  developing desire, and countless weight loss motivation tips and workout motivation tips. But until you know for a fact that you have the capability to lose weight, or build muscle (whatever your goal might be), you will not have the motivation or the drive to make the effort.

Knowledge is your answer. To become more motivated to make it to the gym, fill your mind with as much knowledge of the human body, fitness, and exercise as possible.

By discovering what you want to accomplish, and doing your homework, you can find out exactly how you want to accomplish it and develop more motivation. Getting motivated to work out is hard when you don’t know how or even where to start. Knowledge on any topic replaces fear and doubt.

Two Types of Workout Motivation

When deciding to get yourself motivated for working out, losing weight, or any area of your life for that matter, there are two ways that you can do it.

The first type of motivation is becoming motivated about a certain outcome that you want to have. Whether it’s getting that beach body you want, feeling better and healthier, or looking good to attract the opposite sex, you want to keep that ideal in the front of your mind so that it is constantly in mind. Most people don’t know what they want so that’s why it may be very diffucult to get motivation. If you don’t know what you want in a way that is CRYSTAL CLEAR, then you’ll lose the very motivating factor in the beginning. Nobody does something for nothing. What is your why for wanting to go?

The other method of achieving workout motivation is trying to avoid a situation or state that you don’t want. It is moving away from what you don’t want instead of toward what you do want.

The other day I was visiting a home for seniors to visit my 93 yr old aunt. During my stay there, I felt huge compassion for the people that were there. I watched as they struggled to move, talk, and just try to get by. It was a big sadness watching the lifestyle they lived, unable to control or take care of themselves without the aid of another person. However, on the opposite side of the earth in Japan people are physically active until they pass away. It’s a totally different world over there.

Situations like that, where they emotionally move you to see things in a different perspective is more than enough to propel you forward. It highlights the significance of exercise in a way that points out the consequences of your actions; or in this case, lack of action.

Figure out what you want and then constantly move in that direction. Then take a look at situations that point out the outcome of not taking action. You’ll then notice the workout motivation you have been seeking up until this point will suddenly emerge!

Building More Energy

To get more motivation to work out, it is helpful to have more energy in your day to day life. If you don’t have the energy you want, then it’s going to be hard to get up off the couch even if you really do want to change your physique. Therefore, energy is a necessary element to getting into shape.

You get back what you put in. If you laze around, your body will lower it’s metabolism and the sufficient amount of energy needed to get physical will be slim to none. However, you’ll find that the more movement you do, the more energy you get. People that have active lifestyles are full of energy, and vice versa.

To start getting the energy levels up you want to work out, consider doing some early morning yoga. Stretching the muscles are vital to staying healthy and avoiding risk in day to day life. They are also natural, because you’ll see many animals in the wild stretching throughout the day, for example, cats.

This sends the blood flowing throughout the body and begins to heighten your energy to take on the day. Another thing you want to do is take a daily walk, or jog if you have the ability. The sunlight is 1,000 times more beneficial than indoor light, and this raises melanonin levels in the body which keep you awake and alert.

Finally, one of the best ways to raise energy levels is to drink more water! Your body is 80% water, and h20 is used to properly digest foods, and perform vital bodily functions. Without water your body works much harder and it makes you feel lethargic and sleepy. Shoot for 8-10 glasses a day, especially if you are becoming more active.

These things and more are enough to keep you feeling more alive, awake and full of vitality. And having a more active lifestyle will then give you the energy to want to go to the gym and keep you motivated.

Work Out Motivation

Work out motivation is the key to getting into the shape you’ve always wanted to be in. Many people complain about their bodies or their level of fitness, but they never do anything about it. Yet, they claim to want it just the same.

So what makes the difference between the buff and the out of the shape? Workout Motivation.

Work out motivation is the key to changing the way you live. It’s not a goal, it’s a way of life. Work out motivation doesn’t just play a role in fitness, but motivation in general is enough to change every aspect of your life.

To get work out motivation, you have to know what you want and see a clear picture of it. Unless you can see yourself the way you want to look, you will lack belief in your abilities to do it, and therefore the motivation will never come.

You see, motivation is self perpetuated. You can only receive INSPIRATION, but motivation comes from within. It comes from the ability to know what you want, believe that you can get it, and acting on that belief in a way that it is going to give you what you want.

Self image has a lot to do with work out motivation. If a person sees themselves as fat, skinny, out of shape, or lazy, then they are no longer characteristics of that person but they have now associated their identity with them. It is part of who they are, so no amount of change in your lifestyle will give you the work out motivation you need because it will be against who you are.

This site is about getting the work out motivation you need, learning how to manufacture it within yourself, and changing your inner world (thoughts, beliefs, and ideas), to make the change in your outer world so the inner motivation to change your health and fitness level will rise, and you will begin to notice more work out motivation in your day to day life!

Workout Motivation – Setting Priorities

Setting priorities is a major part in developing your workout motivation. If you don’t know what you want out of life and have your life aspects in check, you’ll spend all your time doing things that don’t get you anywhere in life.

The biggest thing I hear people say when they make excuses for not going to the gym is that they don’t have the time. And yet, we’re all blessed with the same 24 hours a day. How does one person find the time to workout while another doesn’t? It comes down to priorities, and of course, your level of motivation.

Excuses are not valid reasons for not exercising; they are results of low motivation. Time is one of the major excuses being given, and fact is, everyone has the time.

If you watch even 5 minutes of TV, for example, while claiming you don’t have time, the truth is, you do. Watching TV is just a higher priority than getting your health in check. When you watch your actions on a daily basis, you’ll begin to see where your priorities lie and how to then make time.

Your actions define who you are. If you really WANT to get in hape, lose weight, build muscle, etc, your actions will show it and you will make progress. Anyone who claims they do but don’t do anything really doesn’t WANT, on a fundamental level, to make the changes necessary.

So, in order to develop more motivation, find out where you spend most of your time and make your health a number one priority. Determine the pros and cons of exercising and decide for yourself if working out has more benefits than not doing it.
